Animals Project Evaluation

Peter Clark artist Profile-

 Peter Clark is a collagist of genius. Over the past decade he has built up an international reputation with his extraordinary creations - images full of wit, truth, beauty and, even, pathos, fashioned from a wonderful array of found vintage-papers and other collected materials. He has exhibited in London, Milan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. Although most celebrated for his images of dogs, Clark's subject matter extends across the whole animal kingdom (horses, tigers, bulls, pigs, zebras, fish) - and far beyond it, to include suits, tutus, handbags, cameras, motorbikes, boats, trophies and teapots.  I like this artist because he has a different way of looking at things i find his colleges very interesting to look at and i like the way he recycles materials because sometimes he uses rubbish he has found, i also think using rubbish can add a story onto the college because you don't know where the rubbish has been and what kind of journey it has been on. Peter Clark is a good inspiration for this animal’s project and i will try to use his style throughout my project and in my final piece.

Evaluation-
I found looking at the artist Peter Clark different because he is a college artist and this is something I wouldn't normally look at, throughout my project i tried to use Peter Clarks work as inspiration 

Observational drawing evaluation

The drawing and mark making techniques i have learnt in this project are, printing, s graffito and drawing with pen,pencil and coloured pencils on different coloured and textured backgrounds. S graffito is new to me and i enjoyed drawing in this technique i would use this again in other projects as i thought it was quick and easy and gave a good effect.

I pick objects then used my observational skills to draw. when i did my 4 studies on different textured back grounds i thought the brown papered background had a good effect because the creams and browns of the coloured pencils i used worked well with this background. I didnt think the thick white paint was effective because it was hard for the colours to show up clearly.

I think my sgraffito 'stratch' drawing is created buy using oil pastels and then mixing fairy liquid with black paint over the top, then i left it to dry. I then collected three objects and then used a compass to scratch into the paper which then shows up the colours from underneath the paint. I thought this was very effective and quick and easy to do, i would like to use this again in future projects.

I think my homework studies were unsuccessful because i didn't manage my time well enough, if i had more time the outcome would of been better.
I feel i have improved my observational skills better i now have more confidence of drawing when objects are put in front of me. I think i could of managed my time better in this project and planned out what i needed to do. I think in some of my drawings i have produced the best i could however in others i felt rushed to finish them. I would like to explore more textured backgrounds, but overall i am happy with this project but i need to be careful of time management. If I was to do this project again I would like to explore better in more interesting objects and challenged myself.
